It is several times we celebrate the anniversary of Shahmar Alakbarov without him. But, despite this, hundreds of people always come to honor his memory. Once again, this shows that real creative people never die, and their rich heritage lives forever.

As the press service of the Cinematographers Union of Azerbaijan reports, these words were said by the first secretary of the Cinematographers Union  of the Republic of Azerbaijan, honored art worker, Jamil Guliyev at the event dedicated to the 75th birthday of the famous actor and director, People's Artist, Shahmar Alakbarov.

Guliyev spoke about the actor's creative path. Shahmar Alakbarov, taking advantage of the centuries-old rich cultural traditions of Azerbaijan, thanks to his creative talent and work, brought innovations to the stage, created his own style and wrote brilliant pages in the chronicles of national culture. Providing information on the numerous images, greatly performed by the actor, J. Guliyev said that his films are valuable pearls, which have forever occupied an immortal place among the achievements of the country's cinematography.

People's artist Emine Yusifgizi, Honored Artist Elkhan Gasimov and others shared their memories of Shahmar Alakbarov and told about his creative world.

It was noted that Sh. Alakbarov was born on August 23, 1943 in Ganja. He lived only 50 years. But during this period he was able to write his name in the history of cinema creating a lot of images and films.

He studied the course of Rza Tahmasib on the faculty of acting of the Azerbaijan Institute of Arts. On the third year he was recruited to the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater. For the first time in the theater, he appeared in the play "Lope de Vega" by Shakespeare. After a successful performance in the "Masters" ("Ustalar"), he gained the prestige of a large audience. Subsequently, the famous art figure Adil Iskenderov invited him to his studio "Kino akterlugu", created by him at the film studio. Shahmar Alakbarov worked as an actor and director in the film studio "Azerbaijanfilm". After graduation, he stayed at the institute to work as an assistant teacher. Shahmar Alakbarov also actively participated in television and radio broadcasting. For the first time he appeared on the radio as the host of the program "Star". In addition, he created unforgettable images in television productions, was the host of the radio program "Molla Nasreddin" and participated in the duplication of many films.

It was stressed that there are such films in the creative biography of Shahmar Alakbarov that are one of the most valuable examples of our national moral values. This is because these films are based on our national values, reflecting the real atmosphere of a certain period of our history.

It was noted that Shahmar Alakbarov worked with different directors during his 20-year career. His first acting career began with the film "The Duel in the Mountains." The images created by Shahmar Alakbarov: Gazanfar ("Seven sons of mine"), Ogul (“Exepctation”), Iman (“The last montain pass”), Arif (“The life tries us”), Azad ("The winds blow in Baku"), Gatyr Mamed ("The Avenger of Ganjabasar"), Feyzi ("Firangiz"), Gunduz Karimli ("The stab in the back"), Javidan (“Babek”), Nuru ("Strange Man"), Tahir ("Wait for me"), Khalig ("The old,the old..."), Jumshud ("August is coming soon"), Ibrahim (“Saddle these horses”) - differ from each other in character and outlook. But all these images are combined by the talent of the actor, his beautiful style of performance and endless love for work.

Shahmar Alakbarov has heroes that cannot be forgotten. When we watch the film "Seven sons of mine", we all look forward to the scene in which Gagani, embracing the wounded Gazanfar, says: "Do not die, Uncle Gazanfar, do not die!". This is one of the very rare scenes in which, even at the time of death, the actor takes the viewer away from the tragedy and makes him smile. He knew how to do it, and this quality is not inherent in every actor.

Shahmar Alakbarov was also a good director, who had his say in the world of cinema. His first work in this field was the film "Exam", filmed together with Gulbeniz Azimzadeh. Then he shot the movie "The endless night". The film “Gazelkhan”, shot on the basis of the script by Shahmar Alakbarov, was also successful. This film reveals various moments of life and creative activity of the outstanding poet A. Vahid.

People's Artist, State Prize Laureate Shahmar Alakbarov died on August 12, 1992.
